About

David Dye writes historical fiction that lives at the crossroads of documented history, myth, and unexplained events. His work is driven by a fascination with moments where the official record thins—where rumor, legend, and human fear fill the gaps left behind by time.

Before turning to fiction, Dye spent over thirty years in public service and enterprise systems architecture, including a long career in law enforcement and senior roles in data engineering and financial systems. Accustomed to working in environments where errors carried real consequences, he developed a lifelong respect for precision, pattern recognition, and evidence—skills that now shape his approach to storytelling.

His fiction is grounded in extensive historical research, often inspired by primary sources, eyewitness accounts, and lesser-known historical incidents. Rather than rewriting history, Dye explores its edges: the unanswered questions, disputed events, and stories that persist despite official denial or explanation.

Blending suspense, historical realism, and subtle speculative elements, his novels appeal to readers who enjoy intelligent, atmospheric stories that challenge conventional interpretations of the past.

David Dye resides in Florida and is currently working on multiple works of historical fiction.
